@davidigorigor The same people who organized this march had ties to the CPUSA and supported unconstitutional, forced integration. Blacks had the right to vote, same as whites as long as they could pass the poll tests. As far as the Bible goes, God clearly separated three distinct races through the three sons of Noah. Noah did prophesy that they would be reunited (Genesis 9:20-27), but that's no reason for the government to force people to integrate against their will.

I don't understand why I keep finding your comments on these civil rights videos. This march was not about segregation; this march was about voting rights and equality before the law and justice for citizens of our nation. I know you argue elsewhere that you are not arguing for white supremacy, but rather for segregation, and you claim the story of Noah and Acts 17:26 as your basis for claiming the races should live separately. Acts mentions the boundaries of nations, not races...

gaining civil rights doesnt lead to freedom, its merely being granted rights by goverment.. thats not freedom... if youre free, you dont need goverment granting rights to you... people need to pull there heads out

God is the one that separated the races. To go against segregation is to go against God. White people and black people are culturally and genetically different and have no business mixing and mingling in schools.

The Emancipation Proclomation from back in the Abe Lincoln days gave them the right to vote. They HAD that right, and that is what they were fighting for. The whites simply were not letting them vote. Beatings and killings were threatened and carried out to anyone who challenged them. That's why it took 100 years for anyone to be brave enough to fight. Even though people died and were hurt, they knew they couldn't back down. I am proud of them and I am white. I

Blacks DID have the right to vote. This is wrong. The whites simply wouldn't LET them vote. Nobody in the nation knew or cared about just how bad it was down there until this happened. The white minister, who came to Selma to help, simply got lost after eating at a diner and was attacked by a white mob and killed. The nation said that was it, and rallies in about eighty cities took place, forcing people to pay attention.

wow...just wow...Barack Obama stands for more then the seat of President in the white house. Barack Obama stands for the overcoming a history of rejection, pain, violence and inhumane treatment of human beings in this country.

I just read a book about her. She was a special woman-her own woman.
I'm glad things aren't like this anymore. I'm glad my father wasn't racist, and I'm proud I wasn't raised racist. All this hatred can't be good for anything, and the white supremists (sp) can't really give a reason for all this hate except that they learned it from their ancestors. Their reasons for the life of me don't make sense!
Id make a few corrections to the narration.
"blacks did not have the right to vote"
--> "the whites refused to allow blacks to excercise their right to vote"
"the consequences of allowing blacks to vote were enormous" --> "the consequences of being unable to vote had been devestating"
