You can be confident that Cummins will deliver better system integration every time with the most dependable power solutions for Tier 4.
Our Tier 4 Interim technology solution builds upon the proven durability of our Tier 3 base engines while adding worldwide experience and leadership in key enabling technologies to meet EPA Tier 4 Interim and European Stage IIIB mobile off-highway emissions standards for the 174 751 horsepower (130 560 kW) range taking effect in 2011. Cummins is the only engine manufacturer with a single, integrated system that encompasses critical subsystems from air intake to exhaust aftertreatment.

EPA Tier 4 Interim and EU Stage IIIB emission regulations will take effect on January 1, 2011 across the 174-751 hp (130-560 kW) power categories with 90% particulate matter (PM) and 45% oxides of nitrogen (NOx) reductions.

Cummins Tier 4 Interim solution from the MidRange QSB6.7 to the Heavy-Duty QSX15 engine will utilize common Tier 4 subsystem architecture with cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and Cummins Particulate Filter as the core technologies. Engine enhancements will include a new Cummins Direct Flow air filtration system, the use of Cummins Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT™) and a crankcase ventilation system with a highly-efficient coalescing filter. All components are managed by a single Electronic Control Module providing a completely integrated system.

Beginning January 1, 2012, the Tier 4 Interim and Stage IIIB regulations will take effect for the 75-173 hp (56-129 kW) power catagories.

The next generation 4-cylinder QSB engines retain the same 3.3-liter and 4.5-liter proven platforms and will be supplied as a fully integrated air-intake to exhaust aftertreatment system. Both the cooled EGR system and the Particulate Aftertreatment unit have been specifically developed as a more compact and simplified version of the Tier 4 Interim technology of the 6-cylinder QSB6.7 engine. An upgraded turbocharger with electronic control will be utilized to manage EGR flow across the entire engine rpm speed range.

With proven fuel-efficiency up to 5% we deliver the right technology with the lowest cost of ownership and the most productive power solutions all while maintaining the reliability youve come to expect from Cummins. To better support our OEM customers, weve developed a Tier 4 machine integration process to realize fully optimized installations. Cummins Virtual Installation Center also provides a full range of integration services to OEMs to enable rapid progress ahead of investing in prototype hardware.

  • @broken4813 Thanks, glad I'm not alone!

  • @jeffhoberg well said

  • Epa is gay and so Is the diesel particulate filter, like I said. Epa has a vag

  • What model of VGT will the 175hp QSB use?

  • all this means is terrible mileage and a third more fuel being burnt, hence more carbon. Thats just science. Why doesn't a company as big as Cummins stand up to the EPA BS rather than putting out a silly ass video like this to appease to the people who will eventually make diesel vehicles unaffordable. $4.00 a gallon for a cleaner fuel that cost 100 times less to produce? hmmm liberal EPA agenda? Get with it Cummins.

  • that is a really weird choice in music!

  • Absolute shit
