There were a lot of people that knew what BJJ was prior to the first UFC. Fortunately for the Gracies, none of them were invited. Can't sell the world on Gracie Jiu-Jitsu if Royce is getting spiked on his head.

I agree with you to some extent, they did put up a lot of crappy fighters to go against Royce but it really wouldn't have mattered anyway because at that time no one had a single clue what BJJ was and no one knew how to defend it. So, no matter who they put against Royce, he was going to choke them unconscious.

Wrestlers think they're Gods..You know that...But actually a wrestler is just a "punching bag" for a Jiu-Jitsu artist..Cause wrestlers only know how to take you down to the ground and try to pin you...But that does not work in MMA..No offense to the sport and the guys who train it..But it's kinda true..

Leo went full throttle for 8 minutes, and began to tire last 2 minutes. WHen leo was in Buchechas guard, he was going really hard and trying to break. Should have savored a few seconds to rest, Leo could have had it! Great match by both. Buchecha wanted it more, such a sick turn around.
