So far every colon this colonoscopist has done has been perfect.Here in the UK they only do a colonoscopy if there is a problem.There is supposed to be a screening system for the over 50's but due to too many patients and not enough colonoscopists its all in disarray.I have had the procedure done many times due to bowel problems.Last time round things were so bad I had to have it done under GA as I couldn't take the pain.Before things got worse I have had this done no trouble at all.

I want ask, if is it painful? Im afraid. I have problems with alimentary tract. I was gastroscopy investigation. Was it ok, it wasn't painful. But now Im afraid. I know nothing about it. You can advice, please?

@Elunaj　Hello! So,the pain,,,is depend on a colonoscopist's skill. We have the technique to reduse pain, but I don't know ,,,in United States.

Just had a colonoscopy yesterday. The worst part is the digestive track evacuation and the little blue dress. They gave me 2 injections and I can't remember anything form about 10 seconds after the second injection till I woke up after shortly after the procedure. I also had a polyup removed with no discomfort. After seeing this video I am a little disturbed though..hehe.

yeah, i'm also thinking that the scope might not be sterillzed- there is no way to know for sure

@bluedragon611tak Hey BlueDragon, I live in Denmark and I will have a colonoscopy in a few days (I am 34) and my doctor wants to see if I have an inflammatory disease. I am concerned about all I read regarding scope poor sterilization in some hospitals in the US and probably many other parts of the world. Is this true? Shall I be concerned? :( Shall I undergo the procedure? :(

I advice you to do procedure when clasic music plays! its very helpful in concentration and patient becomes relax.

@Elunaj I just had one a week ago (in the USA) the preparation is hard, no solid food the day before and heavy doses of laxatives. The test itself was easy. They drugged me and I don't remember a thing, I woke up and went home. If you have a problem have the test, dying from colon cancer is what you really should be afraid of and I guarantee that is painful..
