Art Center College of Design, 6th term project for 'Microsoft Smart Personal Objects (SPOT) Sponsored Project' with Steve Montgomery. Collaborated with Microsoft's SPOT Team (led by Dane Howard) and Art Center graduate industrial design students. Forrest Luu.

The premise of the project was to design 10 years into the future (which anything can happen) of how humans will interact with information - whether it is ambient, full-on interactive, or passive. Our team pursued the concept direction of smart fabrics.

Because of the nature of fabrics and clothing, we believe that it will be the key missing ingredient in 'humanizing' technology. Clothing is one of the most intimate products that we use - and integrated with smart, ambient technology - it could be the future platform in which we do mobile computing in a connected world.

The video shows various use-case scenarios:
(1) Grandson misses Grandma. Scans drawing and sends to Grandma.
(2) Wife on a business trip. Mood monitoring. Consolation. Virtual Hug.
(3) Son's first day at school. Mood monitoring. Trust.
(4) Mother-to-be. Flowers bloom where baby kicks. Enhanced interaction between husband and wife.
