This Chateau-like Villa is nestled in the Cascade Mountains overlooking a pristine volcanic lake in Southern Oregon and surrounded with the majesty of the high mountain desert.
The almost 6,000 square foot home sits on over 12 acres on an ancient volcanic ridge covered with many large juniper trees and offers one of the most magnificent 180 degree lake views in Oregon, from every room in the house. There is ample lake frontage with private access and a perfect spot for a boat house and dock. There are 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths plus a large art gallery. The master suite has a sitting area in front of a huge native stone fireplace, a large wrap around deck, an in-suite bathroom with a whirlpool bath and separate marble multi-head shower, and very large walk in closet. One other bedroom has a river rock fireplace with gas insert.
The native stone exterior and full turret with handmade antiqued copper roof add to the gothic style of this home. Upon approach, the 10 foot tall, museum quality, 200 year old Italian antique double doors, with a large bronze door knocker, make you wonder if giants live here, after opening the interior antique door with all of its original hardware, the 28 foot tall ceiling in the entry with a breath taking chandelier just add to that feeling. There is recessed low voltage accent lighting throughout the home. As you continue up the steps into the great room, you cant help but notice the floor to ceiling glass wall inter-spaced by gigantic Doric stone columns with the grandest of lake views just outside which gives you the sensation of flying or floating. A music room is off the great room with an antique stained glass window recovered from a European cathedral. The wet bar and matching liquor cabinet in the great room has antique French doors. Each bedroom has antique doors imported from France, as do other rooms.
An elevator shaft is located just inside the hall from the lower level 2 car garage and terminates above in the main level kitchen. The gourmet kitchen has a large sitting and breakfast area in front of another lovely brown flagstone gas fireplace. This kitchen has everything a cook would want, from the gourmet gas stove, to the under counter wine chiller. The outside glass cabinets will be great for displaying you finer glass ware and china. The small rustic accents of weathered wood above the range hood and on the mantel of the fireplace are subtle decorative touches. This home is equipped with a complete sound system and a communication system for the main gate.
The entry and great room floors are laid with large travertine marble pavers expertly set to add to the exquisite craftsmanship of this home. The kitchen and family room floors are set with recovered antique terra cotta tile while the bedroom floors are expertly upholstered with handmade sisal.
The Southern Oregon location has many wonderful sporting opportunities. Centrally located to three wintertime ski resorts, and other snow sport locations for snowmobiling and sledding, and cross country skiing, and the summer trout fishing is top grade in many of the area rivers and high mountain lakes. The temperatures are mild and the weather is divided into four equal seasons. There are many scenic and wildlife photographic opportunities as well as hiking, biking, hunting and sightseeing possibilities. The Running Y Ranch Resort is just across the Lake and Crater Lake National Park, with one of the worlds deepest natural lakes and dense majestic forests, is only about an hour drive North. The Shakespearian Theater would be a great cultural experience and only about 65 miles to Ashland, OR.
This home is truly a rare find with all that it has to offer; from the lake front acreage and awesome lake view to the luxurious amenities and finishes. If you are considering one of this areas grandest homes or a unique home and property anywhere, this one is a must see.

  • @MrFishfuzz You could hunt around Crater Lake outside the park. There is a lot of national forest around Crater Lake National Park that is open to many types of large game as well as bird hunting.

  • can i hunt at crater lake??

  • @jenjen3092 yes, but for you for a limited time only it is only $1.900,000. It is a one of a kind very unique location and property with just about everything you could want.

  • I am going to guess that the asking price for this home was $10,000,000 or more.
