Embedded System Course Project @ IIT Bombay:
This is the world of automation. Automation not only results in reduction in human
resources, but it also produces consistent results. This is the starting theme of our project,
which involves a master robot and slave robots. Master robot follows a fixed path and
slave robots follow the master. In real application scenario a human driven vehicle can
replace a master robot and a programmed vehicle can replace a slave robot. Thus for a
trail of vehicles we need only one human driver for front vehicle and the slave vehicles
will follow the front vehicle automatically. By doing this we aim at reduction in human
resources.
The project does not end with reduction in human power. As the name of the project
Pothole Detection & Avoidance suggests, the front robot senses, presence of pot holes
if any and communicates the presence of the same to the slave robots. The slave robots
thus avoid the pot holes and then continue to follow the front robot.
With such goals, project results in reduction in: human resources, maintenance of
vehicles, losses of fragile goods in transportation.
