Willie Green played for us while we ate dinner at the Yearling in Cross Creek. The stupid waitresses wouldn't let us sit in the room he was playing, so he came and played where we were sitting.
Listen to the song, sometimes he is using the harmonica, but other times he is making the harmonica sound with his mouth (...without the harmonica)
@michaeljamsmith You're mistaken. Cracker culture was not limited to the coastal regions you mention. It stretched inland and much farther south

@redo1948 Good grief you are one "don't know shit" individual. When Willie was with me we opened for everyone from Leon Rusell to Pat Travers. Every audience loved Wille. And to add to your ignorance, you called it "cracker life". Cracker culture existed on the north florida and south georgia east coast, not in Micanopy, FL

Fantastic. My wife and I just ate at the Yearling and I was amazed by Willie. A true bluesman. He is the real thing.

If you're in the Gainesville/Ocala area on a Friday/Saturday you must drive down to Cross Creek and visit "The Yearling" restaurant. Willie has some great stories and he's a legendary blues musician.... The food ain't bad either.

The main reason we go to eat at the Yearling is to hear Willie sing ! Great food, great atmoshere and great entertainment !!!

at fifty bucks per person, i had rather be in a quiet corner able to talk with my dinner partners----besides, this type music has nothing to do with 1930's-'40s cracker life in cross creek florida--personally, i found that whiny blues irritating.

I met Willie last night at the Yearling...we had front row seats for this incredibly talented true talent that is the main reason we go to the Yearling....bought both of his cds and he even signed them for us. Wonderful!
