  • @DejaVoodooDoll I loved the Jaguar, was ahead of its time when it first appeared. Porting was actually incredibly easy. Basically it was a source port, then a replacement of the audio, rendering, input and addition of multiplayer with a few optimisations.

  • @DejaVoodooDoll The conversion was done quickly so we didn't get teh chance to super optimise the rendering engine. GBA had no real 3D support, especially lighting so it was all done in software

  • @PocketeersLtd

    3. Anything you can tell about issues porting the Jaguar code to the GBA would be wonderful - Atariage seldom hears anything new about the system, but the Jaguar fanbase is one of the more dedicated ( perhaps a bit too passionate, sometimes...) communities around.

  • @PocketeersLtd

I hear bad things about Doom for the GBA.

    But.

Your version of Doom was the one that sunk it's hooks into my body and tore some meat away. When my world was falling apart, and I was suddenly without a roof over my head, it was my escape into a welcome insanity, where options were few, and the answers obvious.

    Thank you.

    A few questions?

    1. Why the low resolution? Was it the cart size?

    2. Were developers warned about the GBA's lack of lighting?

  • Wow, this is a trip down memory lane, we (Pocketeers Limited) developed this Quake demo for GBA years ago. We also did a GTA 3 style and car racing game demos to show the C2 engine. The 3D engine was an super optimised polygon renderer that worked with restricted degrees of freedom and compressed textures. We had to take all reference to the demo down because we used Activision content without their permission. I went on to convert Doom from Jaguar to GBA.

  • THERE IS QUAKEDS !

  • thumbs up for the epic quake 2 into music

  • the gba has no builtin 3d features, but it can be done trough software, just like the 32x wich also seems to have no 3d features builtin, also the sound system is simmilar to the 32x,it has 2 8bit pwm channels, whereass the 32x has 2 16bit pwm channels, also the 32x has an extra 32bit proccesor so there,s way more power left for other things

  • @sonikku956 I do

  • @haxor758 Well now I'm talking to you. And who responds to an 8 month old comment?
