Conversations host Harry Kreisler welcomes Andrew Bacevich, Professor of International Relations and History at Boston University, for a discussion of the causes and consequences of the militarization of US foreign policy. Bacevich explores the notion that America's role should be that of leader and guarantor of world order that stipulate a global military presence, a global projection of military power, and an interventionist stance toward the global arena. He traces the origins of these ideas, the factors that sustain their existence for more than six decades, and the failure of successive critics to change the discourse. Series: Conversations with History [10/2010] [Public Affairs] [Show ID: 19856]

Very informative program, thank you. I might also recommend here, "Meeting the Enemy: American Exceptionalism and International Law" by Natsu Saito. An interesting interview with her can be found by searching for the program "Law and Disorder" hosted by the Center for Constitutional Rights.
