Homemade Two Handed sword (15lbs)

This is one of the few swords my dad has made based off of designs I've drawn. Like I said in the video the sword is one solid piece of quarter inch thick steel, the steel is black because i wanted the coating on it (helps to keep the rust away) My dad basically cut this sword out, and the hilt is held on by the two other pieces of steel that made up the thickness of the handle ( thats the only part that is welded) but it wasn't half assed my dad has been doing stuff like this for 15 years so nothing of his can break! The worst I could do is bend it somewhat or chip it.

Tell me it's tempered. Because if it's not, against a tempered high carbon steel sword, yours wouldn't stand a chance.

Oh any by the way I did cut my hair about three or four days after I posted this video, but It grows fast =p

In the time it takes you to swing that sword at an opponent, I would say the opponent would win, given that their sword would be lghter, therefore much quicker. Especially true if faced with a katana for example.

The only thing that beats speed and precision is more spreed and more accuracy.

However as a piece of swordmaking skill, i like it. Your Dad has done a great job on it.
