  • I am so desperately disappointed by this film. I don't know how anyone can love these books and be happy with this result. Oh, what a heartbreaking experience. I just... wow...

  • @TheLefayFragment: "A heartbreaking experience." That about sums it up for me. When I realized the film was over....and that was it...there was nothing more... ... ... I felt devastated. I put my head down in complete disbelief. Shell shocked. I never dreamed it would be that bad.

  • And another point: I don't worship these books, and I know they aren't scripture. But I also understand that one writer here (Lewis) has sold millions of copies, and two other writers (Markus/McFeely, or however you spell it) have NOT! If we have to have SC butchered as well, can we please have someone new to do it at least? These writers have bugged me since the line, "Just because someone in a red coat hands you a sword it doesn't make you a hero." Not everyone that loves Narnia is 4 yrs old.

  • I just saw the movie. I don't think it was as bad as you claimed it to be, the scenes where mostly in order with the book (with a few exceptions), the story line though not as good as it could have been wasn't atrocious. I have read all 7 books at least three times so I'm not one of those people who don't have a baseline to form an opinion, and I may have been prepared for it by your preliminary review, but I still don't think it was as bad at you claimed it to be.

  • I was diassapointed by the film But I was really looking forward to THE SILVER CHAIR because it was the best...Ughhh I hope it happens

  • @LinkD3: I would think Christians would be upset about this film. It's much more humanistic than Christian. The emphasis on Aslan as the real "hero" is shifted to the kids. After the Dark Island is destroyed, Lucy says "WE did it. I knew WE would." This is a 180 degree turn from the book where she said "I don't think it was us."

Aslan is just an after-thought in the film.

  • @Blarneybaby : I put just as much emotion into LWW and PC, and overall I liked both.

  • This film was a total “pixel flick” - good to look at but next to no substance.

  • I don't get it at all. I liked the movie. And does no one understand the studio change PLUS the massive budget cut would make for a pretty middle class movie?

  • @GPuddle Yes, you are so right. I saw it today, Germany, and it was just in one word: disappointing. That's pity :(( It is my favourite book.

  • THANK YOU!! I never thought anyone would ever agree with me in my disgust, and yet YOU DO! *U* THANK YOU!! *U* *U* I thought I was the only one! *U* You were the one review I was depending on! *U* I saw it TWICE to make sure I wasn't mental, and I was even more let down the next time... Dear Aslan, what they done..? T.T XP

  • @GPuddle I never liked Narnia movies much! It should be made more poetic, It always looked so digital and syntetic to me. But I quess I could foretell you woudnt like it. You are always so excited about Reep, about his finding and determination, passion for Aslans land... It would be very dificult to make so you would have such a feeling from it. Everyone knew they want show it like that. They just show us light excitement..To go so deep in the book, that would be amazing.

  • I liked the VDT film but I still think they could have done a better job translating the book into the movie format. I mean how in the world did they come up with a plot for some green mist?! Now I still enjoyed the film but I still think this is really stupid. I mean Michael Apted couldn't find a way to be faithful to the book?! Now that's BS. Sure no movie can be truly faithful to it's counterpart. But the movie makers can at least try to be faithful.
