if you want to listen to the Embers....listen to the Legends of Beach.....has 5 original members......this group has one....Tomlinson(redhead).....
I would say this group does a good copy of all the Embers original music. -
to answer redhookny....no they arent..I am from Jackson Heights originally...I know doo wop...(..and sang many a song under the L on Queens Boulevard (its domed under the L....where everyone parks...best echo chamber around....) I also lived in Columbia SC and got into shag and always loved the music played on the radio and in live shows.....They even sang Happy Birthday...Dec 1 1992......Jackie was still with the group then....and it was shortly after that , that they all began to leave.

I agree with lenwilson...I have great respect and love for Jackie Gore and Craig Woolard as I am a beach music and Embers fan from way back...but the current Embers are fantastic...they are great entertainers...the musicianship and vocals are top notch and I am truly entertained and touched heart and soul every time I have the opportunity to see them perform...catch the next show in your area...I know you will agree they are great!

Is this the same group that sang Solitaire (doo wop group) way back in the early 60's?
I don't think so. This group is based in Raleigh NC. I don't ever recall them doing that song.

Without Jackie Gore, there is no such band as the Embers. These frauds are capitalizing on what Jackie Gore and the original Embers set up!

I too miss seeing Jackie, but times change, and he's doing his own thing in the Legends of Beach band now, and I understand they are great!
The current Embers line up is still one of the best & tightest sounding bands around. Check 'em out sometime, and you'll see.
