An except from the Gettysburg National Military Park visitor center documentary film, entitled "A New Birth of Freedom". This portion deals with the actual Battle of Gettysburg, itself, and my friends and I worked on this film, on the actual battlefield, for 3 days, and can be seen throughout. I'm the Confederate soldier without a hat on, firing from Devil's Den.
The movie covers the whole war while the mini-films in the museum cover the battle in detail. And it's not inaccurate, it just says things your Lost Cause interpretations of the war tell you not to like.

the confederate army had difficulty at gettysberg only because of malfunctions in the transportor coordinate marker transponder and the time warp eleminator circuitry...otherwise the north would have been doomed...actually this is common knowledge in Florida and Alabama and is taught in history books at the elementary grade level.....as i recall... i think...maybe.....

@Lumotaku You sound like you've either never studied the Civil War or are from the South and just bitter that the North won. Or both.

@zekeusmc0844 I think that's the point. I would guess that most visitors have no or little exposure to the Civil War prior to coming to Gettysburg. I've been studying the Civil War for almost 20 years and I found the new visitor center and film well done. I work in the museum field and overall, it's one of the best orientation films I've seen.

2/3 of the film has nothing to do with gettysburg at all!

A fucking horrible waste of time its factually innacturate and the new visitor center isnt worth one spit of shit.

Thanks for posting. My family and I view the film whenever we visit the Museum . Well done. VERY moving! There's just something about Gettysburg. Every American should visit there.
