Virginia High vs. John Battle (2009) - Pt. 1

The Virginia High Bearcats visited the John Battle Trojans on September 4, 2009 in Washington County, VA just outside of the Bristol, VA city limits. Both teams came into the game with 1-0 records. The Trojan fans were particularly excited to be starting the 2009 season 1-0 after having gone 0-10 in the 2008 season. Both the Bearcats and the Trojans were welcoming new head coaches to their programs with much fanfare. The Trojans fell behind early but cut the lead to 21-14 in the middle of the 2nd quarter. However, the Bearcats began to pull away from the Trojans in the second half of the 2nd quarter. At half time, the Bearcats led 42-14. The Bearcats went on the win the game 56-17.
