one more thing LOL
people like tekken more then DOA due to the fact they grew up with tekken, just like how people like Mario more then sonic because they grew up with him, but what i think in reality if it was switched around it would be different. If DOA came out years before Tekken then people would like DOA more then tekken and that goes for Mario and sonic to. do you get what i mean though? but you guys will be playing my fighting games in the future. LOL [trust] LOl

i want to make something like doa. alot of people like doa because they never seen a fast-paced 3D game before that has counters, and different moves, etc.
but i think soul calibur is a great game, mortal combat i dont like, virtua fighting is ok, i dont like it as much because its a very slow-paced game but the grapics are great. tekken is great, but it is just for combs just like xin0 said.

i wat to be a game designer but i want to make a fighting game just like doa, but my own way. i would love combos, many characters to pick from, multi-tiered stages. but what i really want is them ti fight like its real. example: if lei-fang was to grab christie and toss her, she will toss her fine, but if she was to grab bass or bayman, loen, it would be different due to their weight so toss them would be longer, like shes straining to throw them because their so heavy, do you get what i mean?

yup, exploiting, if you are going to learn a combo that has a long string. And use it on an opponent and use the ring as your weapon. Then there's no point in playing or enjoying the.
Breaking the barrier, rules etc is all under Play to Win. You basically hate losing and always play to win.
Therefore your opponent wouldn't enjoy the game, since fighting games were meant to be fun not playing cheap and trying to win all the time.

But .. I see in a lot of DoA Videos people being hit into walls (mostly I see this in Tag in the electric ring) and then keep being hit in there until their HP is gone.
That's breaking the barrier, then?

Fighting rules: use the moves for the right situation.
Barrier: You are only meant to pull of these combo or do this move.
When someone breaks the fighting rules, like a user using Ken from Street Fighter. Could just be doing Hadouken when the opponent is far, if the opponent gets close, he'll pull off a shoryuken.
So in the end, the opponent can't touch Ken!
Breaking the barrier, like you corner someone and start to pull off combo and the player can't get out of it.
-
What exactly do you mean with game's barrier and the fighting rules?
You mean they hack the opponent weak or themselves strong?
