It faintly says "Getty Images" in the background, so I got on the website of "Getty Images" and the only thing they had for RV was the cover of some French movie magazine published in 1927, the year after his death, promoting some fiction story about someone poisoning RV by putting ground diamonds into his food. I wonder if some of those foreign film archives would have newsreels, which this looks like it came from.

@msrudyfan If you find anything out, please pass it on, I looked all over the place last night and could find no radio interviews or additional film footage. I did however go to the internet archives and they had maybe a few mag articles I haven't read yet but that's about all :(

I was watching TCM's series on "The Thin Man". In one episode, Nick and Nora's train is pulling into the train station at San Francisco, which looks exactly like the train station in this video. Maybe all of the train stations were similar then--who knows, but it sure looked like the same station. Getty Images dates this video as January, 1926. Maybe someone could check to see if he was on tour at that time. Also, notice that the kids he poses with are walking parallel, behind the columns.

@JRudyLove I've read that the interview was recorded, but no one knows what happened to the recording This just might be discovered some day. Last year, Russia turned over 200+ lost silent films to the Library of Congress. Of the 10 that have been restored, 4 were from Famous Players Laskey, RV's studio. There's reason to hope that some of his lost films or more complete copies of existing films will surface. European cuts include racier love scenes not shown in the US, according to Swanson
