Japanese horses have much to prove to deserve the status of best horse on the planet, win a Breeders' Cup and the other, the Arc, a race for the Ascot meeting of the toughest in the world!
@GBeret83 ok, but tell me how many times the Japanese have earned the arc? 0 times lol! and even their best horse of all time (Deep Impact) did not win. conditions of different race (turf very special lol!), quarantine before the race, the end of the season for European horses are factors to consider.
@GBeret83 What do we conclude from that GB? That the Japanese horse are very hard to beat at home or, as I believe, they have been getting stronger with each generation and are now the equal, if not the best going round. Second in the Arc last year, quinella in the World Cup, win over the second best sprinter in the World, Rocket Man, and now this whitewash of the internationals. Perhaps Danedream shouldnlt have been there, given her gender, age an tough campaign this season. But...
@kirikou441, this is the 3rd straight running of the Japan Cup where the Euro's have sent over some pretty decent horses, and they've been basically dominated by the Japanese horses over the past 3 running's. Conduit managed a 4th place finish behind Vodka in 2009. Last year, Cirrus Des Aigles ran 9th, Joshua Tree 10th, and Dandino 11th. And this year, the Arc winner, Danedream, ran 6th. The Arc runner-up, Shareta, ran 7th, and Canadian International Stakes winner, Sarah Lynx, finished 12th.
Once again, Buena Vista comes out on the big stage and proves that at her best, she's still one of the best middle distance turf horses in racing. After the disgraceful D.Q. she suffered in this race last year, it really was sweet to see her come right back a year later and stick that awful decision right up the asses of the stewards!! There couldn't have been a more deserving winner of this race, IMO. Can't wait to see her against Triple Crown winner, Orfevre, in next month's G1 Arima Kinen!!
@MrCalifornian09 Aber das sie trotz diesem sch*** jockey noch sechste geworden ist ist hja schon mal was!
