I agree,it is such a beautiful piece,one of my favorites! : ) It is the conductor/teachers fault for not insisting.They could have been really good,seems they have the vocal ability.

nobody every seems to "get" this song - but it would help if the poem were actually stage whispered and if the conductor would stop swaying - the squeeking was rly noticable :P
