LOL @ I liked the ball room! Personally I didn't. It wasn't the great a venue to practice in and there was a perfectly good games hall right next door! The very same games hall we normally used for normal training sessions.
The simple fact is the whole club went McDojo. The "teacher" was more concerned with looks and keep up public appearances than Aikido. Which is self evident by the standard in the videos I posted.
So you'd be right if you said what you see here is seriously crap Aikido.

Look, don´t be so defensive. I didn´t say this is the worst there is, I just said is lame. Plenty of worse stuff out there. But I liked the ballroom background :-)

Sorry, this *is* lame. Nothing wrong with that, its simple a statement of fact. The attacks are lame, the position is lame, there is no kamae, no kime, no maae, no nothing.

I like Ki Aikido. But you're right. There's a lot of things wrong in this video.

Dont quit Richard, it's your instructors and those pathetic dan grades who should be ashamed and embarassed. You're not alone in felling the way you do. Alot of us think its time to get away from this soft and semi religious form of aikido and all the japanese ritual that goes with it. The basic problem with Aikido now is that there is too much art and not enough martial.

This isn't Richards account. Richard is a poser. A flash Harry. That style of Aikido suits him perfectly. Which is just as well since he worships his "teacher".
