Sebastian Knauer has appeared in prominent concert halls on four continents. The Grammy-nominated German pianist joins the Vienna Concert-Verein Orchestra, guest conducted by Philippe Entremont, to perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in concert February 6, 2014, at Penn State's Eisenhower Auditorium. PreViews Editor John Mark Rafacz speaks with Knauer about the concerto he's performing in his Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State debut. Knauer also talks about Entremont, a virtuoso pianist himself who has long been the soloist's mentor and duo partner. An excerpt of Knauer performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 16 enhances the webcast.
