Yaaa, that is a good inprovement for the Philppines railway and manila for the community itself.Public should be warn the potential danger lived near the track where the accident could hapen anytime.Pedestrian crossing the track, children playing on the track as i watch other clip....this is not good!!!. Lucky,Philippines dont have many electric train where the track is fenceing both side due the speed of the train like others country.Mostly powerd by Diesel Electric Locomotives.

haha I know, right? It is dangerous!
But I live in Manila and it's common to see houses built near tracks, I think there is actually a law about building houses nearby tracks but it won't stop the public from building anyway
Manila is a very crowded city and sometimes houses are built on properties without permission, but when they are built, the people get in trouble by the property owners
For now, Manila is trying to improve on hazardous issues like this
Sorry for my bad English btw

I want to ask...is there any law in philipphines where dont let the public to bulit a house near the track......what is going to hapen is the Train accidenly derail from the Track at this speed??. Most of the country the public cannot bulit a house 80Mtr from the Track because the land is belong to Rail Transport .

Has this area been cleared of squatters yet?
I hope the new PNR projects will bring the importance of rail transportation back to the country. No country can fully industrialize without a stable, strong rail network.
btw I like the Badjao "pakiring-kiring" music in the background! LOL

GE U14's , U1O'S, U15C'S and U6B'S built during the 60's and 70's still can haul people... on 3'6'' track topspeed would be 80kph maybe even more... provided its in good condition...back in the 60's my lolo used to ride ECONOMY-plush wooden seats, spring cushion, rotating fans-from victoria tarlac to tutuban-took him 2 1/2 to 3 hours only..trains were eye-grabbingly clean medium yellow with red stripes..pulled by streamlined GE's... you would think otherwise but now there isnt much to say...
hindi pa ako naka sakay ng PNR train, next time sa uwi ko diyan, sasadyain ko pumunta sa tutuban, magkano naman ang pamasahe dito? and gaano naman kalayo ang nararating nitong train? as far as bicol ba ang train?

I can't remember what the fare was, but I seem to remember it was pretty cheap. When I rode it, the trains were only operating between Manila and Binang, but they may have extended them a little further south by now. Much of the track south of Binang is out of service due to storm damage.

Yes, it's an old and tired train, but it seems to serve the people who use it and I guess they like to use it better than buses. And it might be faster since it doesn't get stuck in city traffic!

Yes, it appears that deferred maintenance has caught up with PNR, but I noticed that some of the line is being modernized and rebuilt, and it appears the Government is channeling money toward several rail projects.
