This is nothing new in classic cartoons. How many times did Wile E. Coyotee get blown up or other characters get shot only to have powder burns?

Note that he says, "IF I had a gun, I'd shoot myself!". It's quite obvious, from his overactive imagination, that he'd never REALLY kill himself {a logical punch line would have had him adding, "I gotta remember to keep that finger empty..."}.

its only through cartoons like this that I remember that there was a time when our country could just laugh at a joke and did not have to have everything politically correct and 1500% appropriate for kids.
