There was one song on the album, we are the people, that to me , seemed to attempt to speak to the struggle of everyday people.
Though in my opinion check it out, is more a tale of how someone can lose himself chasing the brass ring, and catching it.

Lonesome jubilee was a great album. In my opinion this was the first real serious music that he did,.
I think that this album was the first real John Mellencamp (No Cougar)music.
This song carries a message. It may tend to fade into obscurity at times, but it'll always bounce back.

Apart from being shown in this clip, I think I heard this song in a US commercial about jeans which was shown on Foxtel. And it was really well done too.
