Nicola Battling the Boys - Dec 7, 2011

Nicola's first match in Michigan on December 7, 2011 at Howell High School. Nicola (Skyline High, Ann Arbor - formerly Punahou School, Honolulu) was the only girl among more than a hundred boys at the high school varsity dual meet event. She lost the match, but won the battle. Go Nicola!!!

Im a 16 year old girl and a junior in high school, I'm considering taking up wrestling. I don't feel it should only be a sport for guys, just like cheerleading should only be a sport for girls (which i am). Do you have any pointers or suggestions for me - Amanda Clair

@AmandaCheers13 Hi Amanda, this is Nicola. I think that it's great that you're interested in wrestling! Even if it's considered a "boys' sport" by most people, I know a lot of girls who are very good wrestlers. I'm from Hawaii and wrestling for girls is pretty big there.
