On May 12th, 2011 'Deep Purple and Beyond: Scenes from the Life of a Rock Star' will be published. "There are things that I never told anybody until the book", Hughes told FaceCulture about his autobiography. "Let's just say that I disappeared in the 90s for a while. Nobody knew where I was, and I didn't tell anybody. I was basically being another person under another name, being completely isolated. It almost killed me."

"There is no greater city in the world to go 'dark' than Amsterdam. If you want weird, it's here. And the fact of the matter is that it got so fucking weird that it scared the shit out of me. I went to the edge of the cliff of insanity. Then I had this clarity moment where I said: I can either jump and go insane, or turn back and become the man I am now."

  • I love glen, what a great man

  • Glenn, One would think that after Dec.4'th 1976 you would have taken a good hard look

at screwing around with ANY drugs! As for 'going dark' in Amsterdam, that must not

have been too hard (being that that's where ANY kind of drug is readily available)!

  • fantastic jewellery glenn.

  • I have pre ordered the Book!!!!
