I fully understand this woman (not so much her husband)
SHE is right - it's the media that makes her look foul and rotten because
a) they're too scared to take interest
b) they want to keep the viewers impressed.
Phelps aren't seeking this media attention / it's coming to them like flies drawn to a cow's ass.

Something I've noticed in every single one of these videos that I've watched, and I've watched A LOT, is that Shirley Phelps says the same thing... over... and over... and over again. "You do not obey the Lord, your God." and "You did this to your child, raising him to believe that the Lord, your God's scripture was false."

God does not punish someone for someone else's sin because it's not fair and there's no such thing as original sin. It's like, why should I be punished for the sins of my father or mother if I'm doing what I'm supposed to. It can be the other way around since it is the parent's responsibility to raise their children properly but yeah, God doesn't even like it when "sinners" die, God would much rather give men the opportunity to return to him than kill them off.
