The producer Timbaland seems to have used a six year old song from a finish musician and used it for the song "Do it" by Nelly Furtado.

See my first video for more details about that:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4KX7S...

New information has now come up that suggests that not only did he use it for the Nelly Furtado track, but also to sell "his own original ringtones" a year earlier.

Watch this video to see for yourself!

I would like to add something else too: the point of these videos was to show the similarities between the songs. For some reason that is completely foreign to me, some users feel that this is the forum to express their hateful and racist comments about other people. I WILL NOT TOLERATE SUCH BEHAVIOUR! If you want to comment the videos, that is fine, but BE ADULT ABOUT IT! If the only thing that you can think of writing is something you wouldn't like said about yourself then don't write it.

If the hateful and racist comments continue, I will simply disable the commenting-feature.

Thank you for your time.

Sample = "take a few second of a song and make a new song from it"

Plagiarism = "take whole song and record new vocals and drums over it and call it your own."

He's not fucking "sampling" by any stretch of the imagination. He's STEALING OTHER PEOPLE'S MUSIC.

This is possibly one of the greatest comments I've ever seen on the definition of the word sampling. I commend you sir. As a breakcore artist, I sample A LOT of stuff. Drums, Vocals, Instruments etc. But I almost NEVER leave it as is. I always slice it up, and mangle it in some way. What Timbaland did here is a disgrace to the music industry.

Timbaland is getting off easy here, just sampling a base line crashed vanilla ice's career.

One thing I found in Hip hop is that producers often sample more than just a 'few seconds'. Some samples can be just as long as in "Do It". It's sad but Timbaland isn't alone. Hip hop is completely based on taking old records and making something fresh from it.

It's hard to condemn Timbaland and not others who sample. Take a look at the site "Whosampled" which compares song vs sample. Have to admit though, not many producers take an entire chorus of a song and do nothing but put a beat over it

Oh boy... YES, he is sampling, but he is also stealing... When TL samples your song and make a remix, then it is called Timberland vs PlanetarySyndicate and you also get the money and credit. But when TL takes YOUR own made PlanetarySyndicate song 1:1, mixes a beat to it (and every child can do that) and get millions with it and even didnt call you to give you your money for making this song he is stealing YOUR SONG while sampling/copying it 1:1... Wake up...

Because he didn't ask permission, from the words of the original author.

It would be fine if he credited them, but to say nothing is just theft.

HOW do you know, maybe he asked a permission or smth ? you can't judge by just hearing... if you judge like that, then you can also say same thing to Enrique Iglesias, that hes stealing music, like Tired Of Being Sorry. The original song is by Ringside. BUT if you take a closer look, then enrique asked a permission or smth, so he made a little better song of it!!!!! READ THIS HATERS!
