Bocelli isn't an opera singer, nor is Josh Groban. Both men sing nicely, but they aren't opera singers.

@operanut You may not like the voice, I understand that, but Bocelli has sung in live opera, unmiked, so that makes him an opera singer in my book.
People always talk about mikes, without realising that in big stadiums and for recording even the likes of Pavarotti and Domingo need microphones.

il gladiatore, here by luciano is not an ópera aria, it is a pop song, played of course in a classical context but it is not ópera

Why are crossover (popera) singers - e.g. Bocelli, Groban, Divo, on the list? And where are Hampson, Ramey, Pape, Florez, Hvorostovsky, Beczala, Araiza. You are omitting some great names of opera singers, and are including singers who aren't really opera. Hint: an opera singer is a singer who sings IN OPERAS primarily, not a singer who only includes arias in miked concerts. It's the same as calling someone who includes I dream a dream in concert a "Broadway performer".
