"On The Rocks" is a large oil and canvas inspired by a HUGH billboard in lower Manhattan. It was an ad for vodka with some orange juice. When you looked at this billboard against the backdrop of the even larger buildings, it was incongruous, just plopped down in the middle of the city. It was rediculous, but it was exciting, downright outrageous. This is definitely a challenge. I have to paint it and I also asked the question, "...does anyone see how crazy and rediculous this is..." I'm trying to communicate an emotional message of what I see in this city and again here is something that is totally unbelievable to my eyes...I just had to do it.
