  • I thought you did pretty good.

  • Thanks for the compliment, each time i hear one i feel better inside (though you're the first for any of my vids-they've still only got about 10-20 views each).

  • I find that Akido is a very hard art to train in because you don't see immediate results. So I always have respect for the patience of the prectitioners. I only lasted 6 months. Switched to BJJ years later, but still use some wrist locks when I'm fighting to freak people out. That training area BTW is huge, is that the dojo?

  • I'll have been doing it for 10yrs this November, and yes that is the dojo. If you want to know it is sheffield EIS (english instute of sport) dojo. Mainly used for judo apperently it was bigger but when britain sucked at the judo world championships they swapped the judo and table tennis rooms around. Still big.

  • I'm kind of disappointed by the lack of focus from the graders. They don't seem like they're really paying attention and also did't realize that they would taped for us to see. I don't care how bored you get/what dan you are.. show some respect to the people pouring their heart and soul on the mat. :S Also... those techniques look mad hard O_O

  • I trained in Sheffield in Tomiki and Aikikai throughout the 1980's. Good to see it still has a presence.

  • @harilee1 Yeah - the "graders" seemed as though they were bored being there. STOP RESTING YOUR HEAD ON YOUR HAND. Pathetic... the "watchers" not the tester.

How did I stumble on this video again? LOL Ah... the wonders of youtube

  • @harilee1 Yeah - the "graders" seemed as though they were bored being there. STOP RESTING YOUR HEAD ON YOUR HAND. Pathetic.. the "watchers" not the tester.

  • As stated above practice basics, one thing that you should work on is your posture at the start and finish of each technique.

  • Hi , good luck on your next grading ,just keep practising and above all basics , basics , basics until your sick to the back teeth of basics , then some more basics and then a second helping of basics , I thought the instructors showed a lack of respect with there general attention and their body language I know it gets boring and tedious watching and marking on multiple gradings but they should know better , any way moan over , dont forget back to basics and keep on training Good Luck .
