A quick unplanned wandering and twiddling on a unique Bobkat, to demonstrate its sounds to a buyer. (It's now sold). This is a mid 1960's H17, with two Dearmond/Rowe Industries Golden Tone 'gold foil' pickups. The pickups from this era measure around 8-13k ohms. This model, beyond the two pickup H15, had the W-tail vibrato tail piece. This is played through a vintage Ibanez Tube Screamer, Belkat Analog Delay, and Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb, into an early 1960's Silvertone 1472 amplifier, that has 12ax7's for preamps, and 2 x 6V6 tubes for the power stage.

  • i have the silvertone one.has a better bridge.pickups are straight .have the amp 1482 also

  • redstrat8, very nice. I have that Silvertone but without the vibrato tail piece, and yes, straight pickups as well. I've not seen a different bridge on any of the Bobkat range and brands (all made by Harmony). Perhaps yours had been changed? Very curious.

  • 1477-2 silvertone guitar I have ,,, exact same one

  • I also have the sears silvertone Bobcat with vibrato tailpiece , straight pickups that are red ( not gold ) by same manufacture. has a couple real little nicks and a little scraped wherer I would stand it up ( didn't have a guitar stand ) . Got it when I was around 12 1964 - 1965. you can see pictures of it on sears silvertone guitar site that shows all silvertone guitars

That's good to hear..My pic guard assembly and switches aren't working. .they still make em replacement parts? cause I cant find anything...

  • @GreenFurnNW the one I found did not have the tremolo bar option on it, but looked alot like this one, but the one I found was in rough shape, but could easily be restored

  • @GreenFurnNW id say $100-$150 not working. But working, $300-$800 depending on the model, condition, and if it has a tremolo bar or not.

  • @vwbusssesareforever

    $300 without it working?

  • @GreenFurnNW some are worth $300, but the ones with the orange sunbirst color to them with the case and all $800 easy restored. The one I found has 4 knobs like this one, but doesnt have an option for a tremolo bar

  • @vwbusssesareforever
