Grade 8 Award - Mazurka Du Salon

this was my selected character dance for my grade 8 award exam in the exam space. the only reason there are four of us in the video was because this was our last rehearsal and we didn't have enough time to do it individually. received distinction :)

Nice!! I can't get over how many in your studio did the Mazurka! There were 8 of us taking it and i was the only one doing the Mazurka!

@xdancinbunix Hehe thanks :) we were the only 4 people sitting the exam that session as well! And we all danced the Mazurka. That school that I went to favours the Mazurka over the Russe. They feel it's a bit unfair having the Mazurka being really jumpy and lively, then the Russe is basically walking! There was a few that danced the Russe, but it's mainly the Mazurka that's chosen - cause my teachers felt we could gain better marks for the character section :)

hey! You're really synchronized with each other... I like it :) Won't you know who's the composer of the mazurka?  Is it Chopin? it sounds like him. It's just that I really want to download it but i can't find it. I would appreciate your help.. Thanks ;) Good Job!!

@dancingcaroline Luckily. Because some people's feet (mine) just aren't suited for pointe shoes. T_T It makes me feel sad that when I'm gone all the other girls (save for a few) will continue at the school doing vocational.

@linkiexD no, there is no pointe work in grade 8, in fact not in any of the grades, only in vocational ones.
