Stay tuned. Obama will be making drastic cuts is government expenditures -- as soon as we get the economy on its feet.
That is what he promised all through the campaign. Why the pessimism? Get on board the Obama train, here in America and around the world.
Maybe all this good will and optimism will bring about some good things for regular working class Americans!! It could happen! Quit putting dog shit in the cookie dough!! That is FOR SURE not going to help matters.

What about the "drastic reduction of governmental expenditures" though? I read an article earlier that said he wanted to shave $17 billion from the budget.
Do you mean the debt or the deficit? They're two things. I don't know how Obama could come up with $12 trillion (plus however much we've spent so far) in 8 years.

Obama has pushed consistently for "abolishing useless commissions and offices, consolidating departments and bureaus, and eliminating extravagance..."
In that regard, he echoes FDR (and in a few other ways too.) FDR was a very popular president with the American people.
STICK AROUND -- Obama is going to get the economy back on its feet, after the multi-faceted Bush debacle -- and make significant progress on the debt. If he gets 8 years, I predict he will cut the debt down to Clinton level.
