goldfish punch oranda

This is a orange/red Oranda- never trained about 10 months old. This is something that simply occured one day as I was doing upkeep on his 29 gallon live plant tank. a high vibration form of communication ensued against my hands repeatedly until I ventured to touch him. Since then - he not only desires the contact- but can become outright demanding causing one person to keep him opccupied- but watching- while the other person does tank Maint. Punch has developed a real need for human attention- as well as communication by varying speeds of vibrations showing satisfaction - or if we ignore him- displeasure by whipping us with his tail - with amazing force
Crazy as it may seem- it is real- no magnets, food to entice, - or whatever- I was told they were friendly but no one expected this- enjoy Punch - oh and yes- they have found that these type of fish prefer classical music - that has been documented so we present Punch with Betoven.....

The habit punch displays seems to be a characteristic of the Oranda. They have very special needs. They are very unique in that they need a higher level of maintenance to keep the water and tank conditions in acceptable conditions. When you notice that the conditions are sub-par; it is too late For the well being of the fish . BUt yes - this breed seems to be especially skewed to curiousity and accepting - wanting human communication =

I remember a long time ago, sometimes when I am bored I stick some fish food on my fingers then I'd let the fish come and nibble them off. The biggest and oldest of all my fish, Golby, was the one that would usually be first. He nibbles so hard! lol I miss my fish *sighs* RIP
