Manowar just re recorded the whole of their original debut album from 1982 and as the original battle hymn was my first ever youtube cover 3-4 years ago I thought that i would do this video to see how things have changed for both me and Manowar aha
so hope you enjoy!


Thanks to a friend of mine, Daniel Wark, I had quite a bit of trouble with this video trying to get the sound from my camera, he helped me finally get my drum sounds, so thanks!

and this song was made for a kit of this size!!

If it makes an difference my giging set up is, 1 tom 2 floor, 2 kicks, 4 crashes, ride, snare and hats

Yeaa i know, they don't sound anything like what you guys are hearing when there live.

usually you do not notice it as my toms are usually a lot quieter in the mix

with no shoes or socks on?

I find you get more feel and a better grip than with shoes or socks on!

closer connection to the pedal, nothing in between you and the drum pedal!

Paul brother, commented on your old version of this, and your just getting unreal good! Neal pert has competition, your one of the first young guys I can say seems to have his balls in his playing at the same age. I am a guitarist, but I'm a Mic/Pre/post production guru so if you ever are stuck with Tech issues and not sure why something comes out sounding like it does, I can explain why usually, and correct it. I have alot of studio time with some of the best at it and just sorta picked it up.

@gogogadgetspoon Completely his micing setup, and how he's mixing it to the camera, you can hear it the first time he hits a drum any one, you can hear his kit sounds pretty snappy on the old version of his video with just pure camera sound. I think 1 of his Mic pairs are almost on the verge of phasing cant pinpoint which set not being there so thats not helping things.

@gogogadgetspoon they sound like cardboard when you put Aquarian Studio-X's and Moongels all over thte head.

get some clear double ply heads, with no muffling, and they'll have life to them.
