I like your rocket stove. How do you make the cement that you used? How long have you been using it? Have you had any issues with cracking/ Thanks for the upload.

I like the way you think, saving energy and making it fun, with simple ideas.

your video is screwed up- it's tilted to the side! Good concept, though, please repost right side up.

I use a traditional 3:1 sand to portland cement ratio. I have used it for about 7 years and have no cracking except at the end of the loading chamber where landmates have pushed sticks to hard and created a hole that just opens to cinder, so I haven't repaired the hole. Since then I have built 2 more, and had no cracking. I slowly cured the cement for one month before exposing it to use;covering it with wet rags and plastic in complete shade.

Some good ideas, like the hay (?) box, but I think some of your math is off...
jwwm2 11 months ago
@jwwm2 The math is not off with soy beans which normally take 3 hours of cooking and only take 20 minutes to bring to a boil before it goes into the hot box. Plus the rocket stove efficiency (30%) is 3 times more efficient than a 3 stone fire (10% efficient)

How fast one liter of water starts boiling in there?
razorJS 2 years ago
@razorJS It takes about 20 minutes to bring 3 gallons to a rumbling boil
