  • Sandblasting (with 80-grit aluminum oxide) of rusted steel engine parts. Takes it down to bare metal. The big tank lets the motor run longer, then keep from having to kick back on for longer. This compressor has a free-run mode anyway, which means that rather than turn the motor off, a servo holds the intake valves open so the motor is under no load, the tank stops charging, and cold air being drawn and pushed right back out cools the pump down.

  • Nice Compressor, That looks like an Eaton. How come you went for Pink? Why isn't there any sound, Could you film it with sound then re post it?

  • It is in fact an Eaton 7.5 horse single-phase 120 gallon. My wife was feeling the pink. She let me get the biggest motor/tank we could afford as long as she chose the color. I have a little digital camera that took the video but it doesn't do sound. It's a nice, slow chugging sound (600 rpm's). They took a 10 horse pump (which runs at 800 rpms) and slowed it down with a smaller motor pulley on the 7.5 horse motor.

  • red lever basically closes the circuit from the psi switch to the motor or motor starter so if the pressure drops and the contactor closes, the switch has to be closed for the motor to kick on.

  • What is that small red lever that you turn at 0:18 do? I just got my first compressor that is used and want to know what that does.

  • Ah well, thats to bad. Maybe time to upgrade to a camera with a mic. What does the compressor get used for. 120 Gallons is considered a very very large tank here in Australia.
