i really think if you want a functional clinch you need wrestling training as a base for striking in the clinch. These lads here have no fundamental posture for the clinch,no control of their man prior to hitting.First learn wrestling basics, then striking becomes an easy extension of that, you cant do it without a base of control. You can spar 100% effort with wrestling without many injuries but not with the strikes in clinch, especially elbows and knees.

I'm not a spammer,I trained with Vince, & rick many times. I've trained in karate for 27 years and my views on iain are correct he's poor on knowledge of real combat.

The respect is likewise. And I'm not saying what you're doing isn't effective. By no means. Any dedicated martial artist should have a major advantage against any thug no matter the art. But if you're looking for the best techniques and tactics then there's no one art that has it all. That's all I'm saying.
Btw, how did your girl do in Japan?

@rltennant There are no rules in combat. You show the knowledge of someone who doe all their 'Bunkai' in the dojo. Each seminar of Iain's is taught at different levels and yes it does include Kyusho. I have 40 ars of M.A. experience and have trained in many aspects of Bunkai including Kyusho (Dillman system). The men you mention are great men but if you have not trained with Iain how can you comment. With my experience I would be e first to complain if I thought he was not ood at what he does.
This rltennant joker looks like a spammer he has a copy past comment on various clips. I would doubt if either Vince Morris, Patrick McCarthy or Rick Clark would approve of what he is trying to do.
I have never met Ian Abernathy but alongside the aforementioned (open minded) sensei he is influenced a lot of my thinking on karate.

If you're interested in these sort of tactics and techniques look to Muay Thai and Dumog in FMA. For groundworks currently you can't do any better dan BJJ.

@Micahel213 Thanks Michael. All due respect to the Muay Thai and Dumog and BJJ but what I do gives me all that I need and has worked well in 20 years of nite club security work. However I do respect what you say.
