Barack Obama stated his intention to bankrupt the coal industry in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle. That would throw countless people out of work, devastate the economy of many coal producing states, and send electricity prices skyrocketing for everyone. HELLO Obama said: He wants a cap-and-trade program that would set a price for greenhouse-gas emissions that would make it prohibitively expensive to build new coal plants, because they emit vast amounts of carbon.

The objection is to Obama's stance on dirty, conventional coal in order to look AS IF THEY care about the environment. THEY DON'T!

McCain favors a program MUCH LIKE Obama's, which would have THE EXACT SAME impact.

No matter who wins, the coal industry is going to be in trouble.

I am a business owner who employs 30 people. If Obama is our next president my taxes and fees will go WAY up.

To compensate for this the customer will have to see an increase in my fees about 8-10% and I will need to lay off six employees. This bothers me. I was unsure how to choose who will have to go.

In our parking lot I found 8 Obama bumper stickers on employees cars. They will be the first laid off. It seems the fairest way to approach this problem"

This was taken out of context.he never said bankrupt the coal industry.Obama was talking about building new power plants with clean coal technology and if anyone wanted to build a dirty coal plant the people that built it would go bankrupt not the coal industry.
