Identity Theft Victim Arrested Because Of Thief's Criminal Record

Identity theft victims including one who was arrested because of an ID thief using his identity when he committed crimes. The victim was held for four hours and almost extradited despite not matching the criminal's description. Fortunately for him, his wife faught hard and was able to get him released. Also includes a child who's identity was stolen.
The bill will help but it is only reactionary - it will do nothing to prevent ID theft. Requiring employers to use E-Verify would be much better and would prevent the vast majority of the theft of children's identities.
