geez guys, no one has heard of positive pressure attack? Push all the heat and smoke back and out. This creates a better enviroment for fire crews, no inversion, no flash. leafblower? (idiot) they're called blowers pal. and yes we do carry em. the blower has to be placed right with attack lines ready. And why would anyone want to take all that heat and smoke up what may be the only egress point...the stairwell. Pal if u did this u just fried every person with their kids trying to get out.

And why is it a bad idea to push fire out of the building rather than pull smoke and heat into it. Come on...my 6 year old could figure that one out.

PPVA- Positive Pressure Ventilation Attack. Start the fan at the door as the attack line makes entry, The interior of the house is cleared of the heat and gasses, making it more tenable for survivors and allowing firefighters to move quickly. The main stipulation is you have to know where the fire is and have the appropriate exit points.

I always thought a better alternative would be to direct the fire up through the fire stairwell (when no one is in it of course). Open the roof stairwell door, then on the same floor the fire is on open the doorways to the stairway. So instead of spreading the fire throughout the flammable parts of the building, it could be directed up the fire stairwell and vent out the roof, pulling air into the window instead of pushing fire out.

So that just looks like a bad idea. I guess they know what they are doing though.
