Ben van Dijk:
March 2005 I gave a master class in Caracas, Venezuela. I worked with 50 students of the FESNOJIV organisation. It was a wonderful inspiring experience. We had a final concert with trombone ensemble music including some pieces with me as soloist. Here you hear "Mr. Roberst" by Ilja Reijngoud. I do not remember all the names of the players but listen to the talent of Pedro Carrero on lead trombone in this tune!
Sorry for the poor sound quality!

  • excelent...

  • super schöner ton!!!

  • well no where in that statement do you see me calling you an idiot. Just pointing out the obvious

  • You mistook what I meant. Compared to the reocrding on the CD this is moving alot faster, I simply voiced and opinion that it should have been slower and some people gotall hissy. Alas, anyone can call anyone an idiot behind a computer screen.

  • No shit its rushed. im sure they had a limited amount of time to play the piece.

  • Hey Ben,

Dit blijft toch wel een erg gaaf nummer, Mr Roberts :D.

    Tot na de vakantie!

  • Hi Ben, its Matt... (facebook)

I love this piece!! You have such a beautiful sound, the style and phrasing is superb! I really try to capture some of your phrasing and style in my own playing, you're a real inspiration.

All the best anyway my friend, Matt.

  • I dunno... I felt the pace was a bit rushed, all those lush chords should be sunk into.
