My 88 Toyota Supra swapped with a 1uzfe. Quantum Auto swap kit allowed it to be a manual. Solid Motor mounts, dartizumi style exhaust, etc etc... a lot of work done.

  • I'm wanting to do this to my mk3 as well i saw on a form that gave me a link to this video that you were gonna single turbo it as well i think i saw a picture where you showed a turbo setting behind the passenger side headlight and i was wondering if that was a correct picture and where you have to place the turbo or if that was just a joke picture.

I really really want to do this myself and wanting as much detail about the swap you can give. car is a mk3 88 7mge with a w58 transmission.

  • @spunkenhimer

Here is a link to my build thread. ill message you a link to my build thread... but its on supramania.

  • nice car man.... hey where do you get the engine mounts for this swap????....i have and 87 MK3 with a 7M-GE and i plan on doing a complete rebuild...... but i'm also looking into buying an another mk3 but automatic and doing a 1UZ-FE swap with VVT-i, leaving the engine close to stock and use the stock automatic transmission as my daily driver...... for a DD, i'm looking more for comfort but with some V8 torque you know wat a i mean???? something different =)

  • @MA70BRAIN

I can make a set. Message me and we can discuss details

  • Question:

Why did you opt for solid motor mounts with this set up?

  • @CheesePhantom

Easier to make at the time since I did not have the original rubbers that came with the car.

  • @oaeproductions Oh you meant "2jz", not "2j" which is a Toyota Forklift engine. So now you know and wont be telling people to put a forklift engine in their car anymore.

Why didn't I put it in there? To be different, low end torque, v8 roar, the engine was $150... etc?

And btw, that whole 800hp on stock internals is pretty debatable, just because a few people have done it, does not mean EVERYONE can ;).
