I also find it very frustrating when people repeat creationist arguments that were soundly refuted a long time ago, especially when those arguments involve a failure to understand what the claims of evolution actually are.

Q7. I hate it when someone simply quotes scripture and imagines that it somehow amounts to an argument for his or her position. If I'm feeling grumpy, I simply dismiss such a person as an idiot. If I'm in a more patient mood, I point out how the Bible contradicts reality, contradicts itself, and contradicts natural morality.

Q5. Medical science. I get most excited when I read about breakthroughs in understanding or treating debilitating or life-threatening diseases.

Q6.  Hitchens is my favourite, simply because I find him to be the most entertaining. He's simultaneously blunt and sophisticated, rough and refined.

I used to see government as a necessary evil. I no longer believe that government is necessary so, therefore, I see it as simply evil. I see belief in the necessity or goodness of government as analogous to belief in the existence of gods.

Q4. This is a really badly worded question but I'll give it a shot anyhow. I'm a market anarchist. That is, I think that government is unnecessary and that any service provided by government can be provided at least as well by truly free markets (including helping those who are in need).

I think that my devotion to religion during my youth stunted my social and emotional development. My experience leads me to think that even if one's family is kind and loving, religion is bad for you. It is inherently abusive to indoctrinate a child with religious beliefs.
