Six Cambodian students were among a group of high school students from Southeast Asia who spent 3 weeks in the United States in December. They were participating in the U.S. Department of State Southeast Asia Youth Leadership Program. They spent 2 weeks at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois and one week in Washington D.C. The goal of the program is to promote relations between the people of Southeast Asia and the United States. The other students were from Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. In the Spring, another group from Burma, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia will participate in the same program.
