could you mix chives with the cheese instead of putting it on top?? and also do you put cooked or partially cooked bacon on the bottom?

Wow... I love international cuisine but I've never heard of vol au vents. Go figure! The possibilities with these are endless. I'll have to see if I can find the pastry shells. Love it as a breakfast idea. Too perfect! If you don't like your eggs baked, you can always bake the other ingredients in the pastry and add a poached or fried egg when it comes out of the oven.

I'm confused...you said use 3 eggs but there are 4 vol Au Vents?? shouldn't you have said 4 eggs?

Hey Rob. Love this recipe. Instead of the ham do you think some crispy cooked crumbly bacon would be good and/ or some cooked sausage in the base. Hope you and the family are doing well. Stay safe mate.
