@TexianPride Im not saying confederates didnt get it bad cause they did, but in school up north all we heard was how much the Confederates suffered never talked about the Union. I like the south anyway.

Im sorry for your Great Grandfather, Im sure he was a fine young man.
But to say the Confederacy's side of the war is the only story told is just untrue, our side has been supressed for nearly 150 years.
Our story is the side that is never told.
The Union payed for every inch they gained in there invasion of the south, Im sorry so many young lives were lost its a tragedy beyond all measure but in the end, the southerners were just in there defence, and the north payed for there aggression.

@potato2442 Whoa buddy, Id have to say thats some ol bull ;)
How many Americans today know of the suffering at Camp Douglas?
How many know of the suffering at Andersonville?
Many more
The suffering of the Union soldiers is well known among modern Americans its hammered in when they learn it in school. How many know of Johnny Rebs story?
Both sides suffered greatly the south suffered far more, our land was burned, our civilians treated like animals and our culture destroyed.

@TexianPride My great grandfather lost his life at Fredericksburg partner he was part of the Union Irish Brigade more of us died then you we had a greater loss of life you only hear one side of the story today and thats the Confederates suffering never the Unions.

@TexianPride Yeah, the suffering and harsh conditions that soldiers went through in the Civil War were beyond any other American war. Men went for days without food or fresh water and marched for miles. If you were to be cought deserting, steeling, or even sleeping on pickett duty you were to be shot dead. I recomend to anybody Co. Aytch by Sam Watkins in the 1st Tennessee, he really tells what the average foot soldier went through in the war.

If LotR didn't win the Oscar for original song, I'm between this and Belleville Rendezvous 8)

I think I can speak for most decendants of the Confederacy in that the pain that war caused is still felt by many.
150 years is not long enough to heal the scars of war between brothers.

Im the proud decendant of five Confederates soldiers they fought through hell, they fought for there country against overwealming odds.
The south was outnumbered, outgunned, out trained, and were starveing but they held on.
Four years of war against overwealming numbers they fought untill they could no longer sustain war.
600 thousand men died in the Second America Revolution.
One of my Great great grand uncles fell at Shiloh
This song really captures the war.
I'm here because of Veronica Roth :-)
