Aloha From Hawaii had too much of the atmosphere that appeared to seem too serious and too tense.The audience seemed too yuppy and snobby. Where the audience and atmosphere in the 1969-70 Las Vegas shows,1972 Madison Square Garden shows,and the 1974 Memphis shows audience and atmosphere seemed much more lively.
I saw him 3 times. In April 1972 in Buffalo. In June 1974 in Niagara Falls NY,and in June 1976 in Buffalo again. In the 1972 show he looked more like a cross mix between his Las Vegas shows in 1970-71 and Aloha From Hawaii in 1973. In the 1974 show he looked more like he did in his Aloha From Hawaii concert. In 1976 he looked more like his last shows in 1977. The first show in Spring 1972 was my favorite and 1974 was second.
@BBQFanNo1 Hey, that´s great to hear BBQFanNo1. The March 1974 tour showed Elvis in a very good and inspiering mood and he gave some truly great shows. Up next from the FTD label is another treat from this tour; Richmond, Virginia March 18th. 1974. It will be released in September this year, and it is an unknown multi track recording done in preparation for the recordings in Memphis on the 20th. Really something to look forward to! :)
@MB280E I agree not his best. But a lot better than his stuff from 1975 to 1977. I bought each of his live LP's on 8 track tape when each were first released on RCA. All the Vegas shows from 1969 and 1970 I bought in the Summer of 1971 and were the very first 8 track tapes I owned in my first car. The MSG concert 8 track I bought a year later in the Summer 1972. Aloha From Hawaii 8 track I bought in the Summer of 1973,and this concert in Memphis I bought on 8 track two months before he died.
@MrDani9494 Very hard to say but there are a few that I would favour out the many I´ve heard; Hampton Roads, April 9th 1972 a/s + e/s, Las Vegas February 23rd. 1970 closing show, Las Vegas August 12th. 1970 midnight show, Cincinnati November 11th 1971, Dallas November 13th 1971 a/s + e/s, Tuscaloosa November 14th 1971, Atlanta July 3rd. 1973, Las Vegas August 26th. 1969 dinner show, Las Vegas March 18th. 1975 opening show, Long Island July 19th 1975 a/s + e/s.

1974 was the last good year Elvis Presley performed live in his life in my personal opinion.

@MB280E Which is in your opinion his best concert? I would choose this one (Memphis 1974) and those concerts in August 1970 in Las Vegas.

@1963Austria This is definately NOT his best concert! It is a good show but it was never his best concert ever!
