Just a quick vid of my ongoing N/A V6 project. As you can see the car isn't done and is still in primer. The specs are:

Stock Block, Crank, Rods
Speed Pro Forged Pistons
KB Mark 2R Cam (.494/.506 228/232 @.050)
KB #1 Single Plane intake
600cfm Vac. Secondary Holley
Hedman Headers w/ True Dual Dynomax Super Turbos

  • actually isnt that the 229 not 231? being distributor is in front (buick not chevy) my 81 malibu sounded the same way with straight pipes no cat or muff. with no work at all done to the motor!

    This is definitely the buick v6 231, the 229 is a chevy and would have the distributor in the rear. The 229 is basically a chevy 305 minus 2 cylinders.

  • where did you find the intake?

  • I bought it when Kenne Bell right before Kenne Bell went out of the Buick business..it was probably in 2003 or 2004. You will see this intake pop up on ebay every now and then.

  • i have a 81 regal with a stock motor but mines don't sound like that what did u do to have urs runnin heavy

  • @dupperskeez A 500 lift cam will not clear the bearing journals. The easiest way to make a 500 lift cam work, is to cut the back side of the cam and use longer push rods,

  • Sweet! Think it's feasible as an ongoing project for a college student? I still got a running 3.8 cutlass out in the driveway and currently drive a series 2 3800 and really dont wanna give up the v6 buick. Im moving away and want to buy a v6 Regal to build
